The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has carried out a massive search operation at 15 locations across eight states, in connection with a Pakistan-linked spying case.
The states covered in the operation include Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam, and West Bengal. The raids targeted individuals suspected of links with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives.
During the searches, the NIA seized electronic gadgets, financial records, and other sensitive materials relevant to the investigation.
The suspects allegedly acted as intermediaries for Pakistani operatives, to leak classified information. The case, registered on May 20, is being investigated under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Official Secrets Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
